Magnovo works with the Wounded Warrior Project on Presentation Skills
One of the things that fuels our commitment to the programs we offer is being able to connect with an organization like the Wounded Warrior Project. Recently Rob Jackson, President of Magnovo Training Group, had the opportunity to work with a wounded warrior, Steve, to offer him assistance with an upcoming presentation. As the son of an Army officer, Rob has deep family and emotional ties with veterans and he jumped at the opportunity to work with one of our heroes.
Steve was injured by a suicide bomber in Iraq. Since that time he has overcome great obstacles including a compressed and shattered vertebrae, nerve damage and bladder reconstruction. His story is about overcoming physical, mental and emotional challenges – an incredible story that should be shared.
He gives credit for the physical healing to the VA hospital and his team of doctors but gives the rest of the credit – healing for emotional and mental challenges – to the Wounded Warrior Project.
With the mission to honor and empower wounded warriors, the Wounded Warrior Project is the hand extended to encourage warriors as they adjust to their new normal and achieve new triumphs. Offering a variety of programs and services, Wounded Warrior Project is equipped to serve warriors with every type of injury – from the physical to the invisible wounds of war.
According to their website, the purpose of Wounded Warrior Project is:
• To raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members.
• To help injured service members aid and assist each other.
• To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
Steve was asked to speak at a National Pavers Conference earlier this month in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in front of more than 100 attendees who are owners of paving companies across the United States. He was asked to share his story and convey his powerful personal story with the goal of promoting to the paving industry to hire veterans.
The presentation was an overwhelming success as many owners signed commitment cards promising to hire veterans to work for paving companies in their local communities. We were honored to be part of this meaningful initiative!
