When you’re ill, nothing is more comforting than knowing people care about you. When you’re in the hospital, receiving a care package reminds you that you’re not alone.
Nobody likes being in the hospital, but a thoughtful care package from friends or colleagues (or even strangers!) can offer much-needed support to anyone who needs comfort, cheer, or a light pick-me-up.
Hospital Helpers is a Workshop for Any Group
We designed our Hospital Helpers for groups who want to show they care, who have a connection to the health care industry, or who want to help out a particular facility in their community.
Packages contain anything someone stuck in a hospital bed might need:
- lip balm & moisturizer
- fun, cozy socks (feet get cold in hospital beds!)
- reading material
- lozenges, hand sanitizer, dry shampoo
- anything soft, fluffy, and warm like a blanket
- personal notes of comfort and support from your group
Customized for a Unique & Thoughtful Donation
Choose where your donation packages will go, and we’ll customize the package contents to fit the destination.
Some groups choose facilities where chemo care is given, where very often those patients are far from home and don’t have the comfort of having friends and family close by.
Some groups choose to donate to children’s hospitals, in which case package contents can lean towards items that help kids pass the time while in the hospital.
We can even customize packages according to need. For example, some patients really need encouragement more than anything else, so we find ways for your group to offer that – yes, in a box!
In the Meantime, Building on Team Building!
We’ve all been sick at one time or another, and many of us know what it’s like to be bedridden, in the hospital, away from the comforts of home. That common experience lays the groundwork for team building that unites your group for a common cause: helping hospital patients get better.
And when groups are united behind a cause they can all relate to, they’re apt to ramp up teamwork efforts. We tap into that energy by giving them fun yet challenging obstacles that test important skills. These are skills that contribute to great teamwork; skills in the areas of:
- Creative Problem Solving
- Big Picture Thinking
- Dealing With Limited Resources
- Tapping into Creativity
