Murphy USA Managers Meet Magnovo at Disney to Benefit the United Way

How do you describe 1400 people bringing to life hundreds of stuffed animals to give to children in need around Orlando? Murphy and Magnovo Make Magic!

A Customized, Themed Event for 1400 Participants

‘Everyone Has a Story’ was the event theme, and ‘Changing a Child’s Story’ is what we set out to do with our Rescue Buddies breakout sessions. Given only one hour and so many participants, a complete customization of our Rescue Buddies Charity Team Building Workshop was worked out by our brilliant workshop developers.

There were two main factors determining this particular workshop customization:

  1. participants did not necessarily know one another, so short ice breakers were in order
  2. the standard length of our workshops is 2.5 hours but we only had one hour for this one
  3. logistics had to be impeccable: 1400 participants, 750 stuffed animals and a final session before 1800 people!

Magical Results

Usually the animals go to first responders who use them to calm children involved in an accident, a domestic dispute or any traumatic event to which they’ve been called.

The receiver of the donated toys was the Heart Of Florida United Way in Orlando. Eventually the animals would find their way into the hands of kids in various programs around the city.

The workshop was a huge success. Managers from all around the country were able to meet and have fun with new people and then work as a group to stuff 750 animals of all varieties.

The group cheered as Traci Blue from the United Way came onto the stage with four adorable children aged 2-4. These kids who all are part of hard working, yet homeless families, stole the show with their incredible cuteness!

Over and over that evening, Magnovo staff were approached by participants of all levels. People wanted the express their gratitude, excitement and joy having been part of such a great effort. It was truly a magical day for Murphy USA and Magnovo.
